Comprising more than a thousand beds over 72 healthcare facilities, University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust serves a population of more than 500,000 people.
The Trust is currently undergoing an upgrade to a new order communications system. As part of the project, it wanted to streamline its label printer fleet in order to simplify its consumables ordering processes.
Simple reliability
The Trust has installed more than 300 Brother TD-2130N label printers across its estates to print labels for blood samples taken across the hospitals, replacing previous units from another manufacturer.
Because the same unit is used for several other labelling processes by the Trust, it has reduced the number of different label printing media it needs to order and simplified the stocking process for replacement labels. The labels are thermally printed, so no replacement toners or ink cartridges are required.
Seamless integration
Prior to installation, the printers were pre-configured to work hand-in-glove with the order communications system, ensuring that label creation is as straightforward as possible for staff.
