Office life made easier with improved Scanner series

Ease and simplicity have been brought to scanning with Brother’s improved line of ADS Network Desktop Scanners.

Aimed at the SMB market, the series is fast, compact and offers a seamless experience thanks to customers’ ability to scan, save and share with just one touch.

Brother has enabled this joined-up functionality via a firmware upgrade that promises to improve the experience of business and busy home office customers.

ADS Network scanners have earned a Certificate of Reliability and Highly Recommended citation from independent industry analysts Buyers Lab following exhaustive scan durability testing. They are also certified for use by Kofax VRS 5.1 Elite software and Kofax VRS Express to verify the capability of models to deliver premium document capture.

Four models in the series including the ADS-2400N, ADS-2800W, ADS-3000N and the flagship ADS-3600W now provide PC-free scanning, with customers able to scan securely from remote locations via cloud or HTTPS, or direct to USB, smart phones or tablets.

Scanning speed has been improved on the ADS-2400N and ADS-2800W models increasing output from 30 ppm to 40 ppm.

Barcode detection capability has been added to the industry leading TWAIN user interface driver. This automates the collation of individual pages into documents as well as the saving of individual files to a network folder.

The TWAIN driver also enables better integration with third party applications. This improves document management and enables models to intuitively enhance the quality of scans.

Automatic document optimisation improves scan quality with hole punch removal, colour tone adjustment, removal of marks and ink blots, edge clean-up, ruled line removal and character enhancement to improve legibility.

All models can handle a range of media capacities including double-sided A4 paper, photo paper, plastic ID and embossed cards up to 1.32mm thick and receipts in one batch, preventing the need to pre-sort.

Owners of previous models in the ADS Network Scanners range can also update them and access the new features free of charge.

Aaron Hopkinson at Brother UK said:

“When we initially developed the ADS Network Scanners range, vast amounts of R&D time was spent analysing how to optimise the user experience. This foundation enabled the series to go on and earn a reputation for quality and reliability among customers and industry bodies alike.

“To continue improving the user experience, we have incorporated the very latest firmware and increased scanning speeds on two key models. This improves performance across this standout series for SMBs and busy home offices, bringing ease of use and simplicity to the line-up.”
