Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better Than HP Needed to replace some HP printers that died quickly on us. We have been using these printers for 4 years and have had zero issues. They seem to last much longer than any printers we previously and are very user friendly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ich. Consumable replacement warnings are Brother's scam. "replace drum" after 50,000 pages. "Replace Fuser" after 100,000 pages. What is that, about 3 months in a small office? Anyway, they aren't realistic and neither causes any problem until 5 times that number of pages is printed. Anyway, dismissing these by resetting page counters is fine, but a true annoyance. The real problem with this printer is that sending prints over an ethernet connection that are double-sided, or that are any higher than 1200 dpi resolution, causes the printer fits. The printer prints 304 pages, then sits for 15 seconds not printing anything, then three more pages...UGH. Did they put 8 megabytes of RAM into this thing or? Anyway, buyer beware. We were looking for an alternative to HP's scam (not allowing 3rd party toner) but fell into another one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Power draw on warm up is huge problem Power surge when the unit warms up or turns on causes havoc on the circuit. My network server and switch are on the same power circuit and it goes off line every time a job is sent to this printer. It’s a disaster.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Yellow LCD screen "Receive Error" Newly purchased in use about 1 month. Only problem is LCD screen comes on by itself displaying a yellow-colored error screen "Receive Error". Have to press "Cancel" to dismiss it. No one using printer when it happens and can appear even when printer is in Sleep Mode. Unlike the normal LCD display, this error stays lit permanently until you press "Cancel", so it's burning in the screen unnecessarily.
