Brother unveils smallest portable thermal printer on the market

We’ve launched the smallest, most technologically advanced A4/A5 mobile thermal printer on the market.

Our new PJ-700 range incorporates six models which have been designed for key markets that require fast and reliable printing while on the move, including emergency services, community healthcare, pest management and veterinary practices.

In addition to requiring no ink cartridges, ribbons or toners, models in the range have been developed to support a variety of device compatibility. This includes the PJ-773 printer, which supports Apple AirPrint, and the PJ-763MFi, which enables users to print via Bluetooth.

Connectivity options across the range also include the ability to print from Google Cloud Print and Brother’s tailored iPrint & Scan app, allowing users to wirelessly print documents.

The new PJ-700 printers are ‘out-of-the-box ready’, without the need for additional software development or OS drivers. The models also boast printing speeds of up to 8 pages per minute and a longer battery life.

Salim Hasan, ‎Technical Product Manager at Brother UK, said: “With 26 million mobile workers expected by 2018 in the UK, according to IDC, there’s a natural opportunity for Brother’s channel partners to integrate A4 printing into their portfolio for workers on the move. The launch of the PJ-700 range is a further move by us to build on our suite of portable solutions to support this need from end-user customers.

“This product series represents a huge step forward in smart mobile technologies and is yet another ‘first-to-market’ innovation for Brother. Those who work remotely and their respective businesses, regardless of size and industry, are sure to appreciate the PJ-700 range new features, versatility, and unprecedented simplicity of use.”

New modular accessories include a specially designed carry and mount case. Smartly engineered, this rugged roll case provides IP54 rated construction and drop protection, with anti-curl mechanism to produce absolutely flat documents from the roll of thermal paper stored within. The compact case and printer can be vehicle mounted, if desired, or can be easily carried.
