Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to live with, cheap if you use compatible ink For printing A4 color/black the quality and speed are excellent, weather from a scan/photo copy or document from a PC/Laptop ect. Pros: Works well with cheap ink Plenty fast enough for A4 printing Wireless works very well in Windows Easy to setup, VERY easy to replace ink Cons: Photo prints are acceptable if not outstanding Struggles to pull heavy weight paper for photo printing, jams Paper tray doesn't hold much capacity and has to be removed to be replenished, not a massive deal if your not printing more then 30-50 pages a day Overall very satisfied as its cheap to buy, cheap to run (with compatible ink) quality and speed is great for A4

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This machine... ...produces good prints for general domestic use. Wireless connection easy to set up and is reliable. Printer is prone to paper jams (the placement of the paper tray is critical) and the rectification instructions are unclear - once I had worked out that even though I had removed the jammed paper through the rear access I still had to lift and replace the top cover, it burst back into life and all is well. Sometimes it spends some minutes whirring away to itself without explanation except 'please wait'. I like the individual ink cartridges, replacements are cheap enough if you search. Overall good value for money - once again if you search..

Rated 4 out of 5 by from DCP-J315W This printer is fairly easy to set-up, especially with the front-loading ink cartridges and the straight-forward LCD display. The print quality is adequate, although it's a good idea to play around with image settings on your computer / laptop in order to get the best print quality from this machine (make sure the image is CMYK not RGB). This applies to most printers. It's a nice, clean looking printer, not too big and not too small, feels fairly solid and well constructed. I haven't had any problems with it so I'm happy with my purchase and I'd recommend it to anyone wanting a cheap but functional and well made colour all-in-one printer.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for low volume printing, but... I like Brother printers. Easy to set up and use and a reasonable cost of ink. I bought the non-wireless version of this printer for my mother; liked it so much I then bought the wireless one for me. However, I write and print manuals. I bought this to do a print run of about 750 pages. and fortunately I ordered extra inks. By the end of the run, mostly text, the 2nd black ink is nearly out and the 1st colour inks are about to be replaced. I have just ordered A LOT more inks. The running costs will still probably be lower than a certain competitor (you all know which one) but if you want to do anything but low volume print runs, get a bigger model.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good all in one printer scanner for the price - no OCR I bought this device as I find it handy to be able to scan wireless when I want to and was fed up with getting the scanner out of the cupboard every time and attaching it to my OSX macbbook. Printing is excellent and scanning as well - however if you are looking for a solution to scan to PDF including OCR as other brands do, look further, it will scan to PDF but there is no OCR - how last century. There should be a warning on the box, for the rest it is a very fine product that will make someone not needing OCR very happy

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brother Dcp315W wireless printer Very pleased with this printer which I bought to replace an older all-in-one printer/scanner. Wifi set up was simple for my Windows 7 desktop pc and it was a boon to be able to print from my laptop in another room. Though it's not airprint compatible I can print from my iPod touch using the downloadable app. So far it seems to be more economical on ink consumption than my old printer and this was a critical factor for me as some printers seem to guzzle ink and replacement cartridges can cost almost as much as the printer itself. My other reason for choosing this printer is that the paper is held inside rather than gathering dust in an open tray at the back

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great machine, great value I'd highly recommend this machine to someone that works from home or requires a good quality machine for family use. Our kids tend to do their schoolwork at the back of the house and the printer is located out of the way upstairs (it's easy to set up the wireless) at the front of the house. Whether it's text or pictures it'll produce them on standard or photo paper to a very high degree. More than happy with our purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent printer This printer was exactly what we were looking for. We needed a small printer that did not have the paper sticking up out of the top back as the printer had to sit in a shelf below the desk top. This printer installed quickly and easily onto our network so it can be used by all our laptops without having to turn on the main desktop computer, which is much more convenient. Printing is quick and quiet and an adequate quality for us - I have printed several photos on photo paper and they are quite presentable for displaying ina photo frame. I haven't really explored the scanner yet, so can't really comment on that. All in all a very good printer. I would recommend it.
