Rated 5 out of 5 by from HL-4140CN Colour Laser Printer This is a superb printer with a small footprint. Setting up is simple and quick. Dont worry about the electric use as it goes to sleep when not being used. Print quality is a good as it gets and I have had lots of printers in my time. Plugged into your router and printing from anywhere in the house is available. Print speed is quick. Normal printing ion A4 is covered well as is labels and envelopes via the front pull down tray. The lack of duplex printing is the only drawback with this model . Overall a great printer, great price and great print quality. What more could you ask for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Printer, Great Quality Cheap to run for a small business Had a number of laser printersin the past (mention no names) Opted for the brother after reading a number of reviews. We have not been dissappointed, network setup was so simple on windows 7 and 8.1 and now we all have easy access. Print from warmup is fast and subsequent prints are speedy and great quality. Toner cartridges will last for ages and easy to re-fill if required. Did not opt for the more expensive duplex model as we saw no real benefit, but if we wanted duplex in the future we would get it. It is large so checkout the space you have and the dimensions in the specs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent value. A great printer that works with iPads via the downloadable Brother App (no more AirPrint printer required). The printer is quick to warm up and the first page is out pretty quickly. There are multiple consumable parts, meaning that toner costs are low, and as a home use it's unlikely that I will ever need to replace the drum, although it's not that expensive either. As a bonus, this printer is often included with an offer of a free 3 year warranty or £100 cash back. This is the first Brother printer I have owned, mainly after witnessing the reliability of those installed at work.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from a good network printer I am very please with this printer having owned a Brother HL5050 previously (which gave faultless service). So when it came to buying another printer (HL5050 still going) it was almost a no brainer and my hoped results have been realised. Do not yet have a feel for toner longevity so can't comment. I do have a small problem with 4 small blue dots down length of paper but this only happened when I told the printer to use the colour saturation driven by the PC. Probably a driver problem on PC's?.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to Use One thing our office needed was a printer that was easy to use and quick to set up. We were pleasantly surprised by the HL-4140 as it fulfilled our criteria perfectly. Once we changed over the supplied toner to the high capacity ones (TN135) the printer has been fantastic and just keeps churning out printed sheet after printed sheet. If your office is looking for a work horse printer that does exactly what it says on the tin, then look no further than the HL-4140, I highly recommend it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great printer Having used this printer for a few weeks now I can thoroughly recommend it. Written text is far sharper than my old inkjet and even colour photos come about much better. Also the print speed is much much quicker. The printer was extremely easy to set up except it does not come with the usb cable that is needed to connect to your pc. I use the printer in my home office but there is an optional 500 sheet paper tray which may be required if using in a busier environment.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cheap and Nasty Been a fan of Brother printers for a long time. Never had any trouble. Bought a couple of these, and straight out of the box realised how flimsy the construction of the paper/toner trays were compared to previous products. 3 Months in and now both printers are failing to pick up the paper reporting an 'A4 paper empty' message, until the paper drawer is opened and closed again. Is this the standard Brother printers are now made to ?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from HL-4140CN Streaky printing. I tried to get help from Brother on the streaky photo results (other prints were OK) but was asked ridiculous questions like to check how much drum life was there. IT WAS BRAND NEW OUT OF THE BOX. Was never asked the exact nature of the streaks even though the manual shows about 10 sypmtons. I have now assumed that the quality is the best this printer can manage. I would not use it for presentation material, not even informally.
