Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unbelievably useful labelling device I have been looking at buying a device like this for some time. I am so glad that we bought the Brother P-touch. Our son, who has learning difficulties, is going away on his first international school trip. He forgets everything usually. Now that his case, toothbrush, torch and even underpants are clearly labelled, we are hopeful that he will actually be bringing most of his belongings back home with him. My wife, being a teacher, has now taken custody of the labeller. I think that I'll have to buy another one, as we will not easily get it back from her. She uses it for everything!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Low cost labeling tool that works well This is a nice, very easy to use labelling machine suitable for low volume usage. The cartridge style different labels are easy to interchange, and the machine automatically sizes the text to suit your tape, or you can set the size and style manually. The built-in cutter cleanly cuts off the label, though the amount of blank tape either side of your text is quite a lot - if doing labels for a number of items I would recommend doing several labels on each 'run' with a few spaces between.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good choice of label styles and features. The huge range of labels available is amazing. The only problem is..... each label takes about 30% more tape than it need to, so you run out too soon. Same business profile as PC printers, the machine costs are modest, the tapes (printer inks) cost a packet, and the machine's use of tape is very wasteful

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brother P1000 I purchased the Brother P1000 lable printer so I could make some labels for my succulent plants. I have over 100 plants that required labels, many of them have complicated names and often several of the same type. This machine produces really neat labels and the multiple print option really saved time. Peeling the backing off the tape so it can be attached to a plastic label is a doddle. For the money this is an outstanding bargin and I have no hesitation in recommending it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from excellent label printer This is a brilliant piece of kit, small and very reasonably priced, it is simple and quick to use. My only niggle would be that I couldn't shorten the tape length, so therefore wasted a bit of tape at both ends of the writing, don't know how this can be avoided, tried to shorten the tape length within "settings", however wouldn't allow me to print off using "vertical" writing.I received 2 rolls of tape with the product, not the best colours, but other colours widely available.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does everything the home user wants ......and more! I am extremely pleased with this product. Soon found how to use it to the full with ease. It has so many options it can be applied to any labelling situation. Also has the added advantage of having the capability of being powered by a mains adaptor, which saves greatly on batteries. If you want to be nit-picking I would say that the margin could be reduced even further to economise on the use of tape. Otherwise full marks in all departments.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant As a child I had a label maker where you turned a dial and clicked the trigger to emboss the letter onto tape. I saw this purely by chance when I was shopping and bought it. It`s brilliant, I still haven`t mastered all it`s capabilities but I`m having great fun. My husband won`t sit still incase I stick a label on him! On a more serious note the replacement tapes aren`t cheap but they go on and on and on. It takes me back to my childhood.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brother PT1000 Labeller This device was purchased to label the drawers and containers in my wife's new craft-room. It has proved to be one of our best purchases to date. It is very simple to use and generates very good quality labels and has now been seconded to label the rest of our world. Changing the label media is also simple and the range and size of labels covers all our requirements from plain black-on-white through fluorescent to fabric (now used to label the grandchildren's socks). The range of fonts and effects provided are more than adequate for any label required and the more elaborate ones are also used on some of the craft items that my wife produces. Battery life is very good and of course you have the option of using a power supply instead. We looked at a number of different portable labeling options in this price range and this proved to be the most versatile and economical. I would recommend this device without hesitation.
