A Tortoise would be quicker than this all in one
I am a die-hard fan of Brother products & have used a number of their products from sewing & knitting machines to fax, mono laser printers etc. When our study laser printer died after 25yrs of faithful service, we decided to buy an all in one, to declutter the study of separate items.
Sadly this machine (MFC1910) is a very pale imitator of its predecessor & I wonder if it will last 2yrs rather than 25. Its very plasticky, the paper tray sticks out rather than a concealed draw type tray. Scanning & faxing is very slow, & there is no auto-duplex. It's time consuming to have to manually print and then make sure it goes in the right order, or the prints will be the opposite way around. The display screen is small, unlit & impossible to decipher. The only real redeeming features, is that both the toner & drum are separate, so if you are out of toner, you only replace the toner cartridge & vice versa. The drum is replaced every 10,000 pages. It pays to shop around to find the best price for both the toner & drum unit, however Brother's original consumables are very competitive on price & can be cheaper than some compatible equivalents.

Excellent Multifunction Laser Printer
So far I have been very pleased with this Printer. It was easy to set up (Windows 10) and is easy to use. Of all the Laser printers I have used this one is the quickest. Brilliant!

good value for money but annoying hiss even when off
It's quite a good for the price and I'd put 5 stars, but the printer makes a constant high pitched noise that make that I constantly have to physically unplug it. The noise is present in standby mode and also, a little less loud, when the printer is switched off. In a quite environment it's quite noticeable and the only way to avoid it is to physically unplug the power cord. I will contact the customer service to know if it's a known problem of this model or if it is just my device.
