Unfortunately I thought it had a memory card in it and I think it was because it says portable and you can use it anywhere. I’m scanning boxes of old photos and didn’t want to have to sit at a desk hooked up to my computer to do it. Scans are clear and fast. I can’t get it to scan to my chosen folder. I’ve set it correctly but it’s still scanning to the initial default folder. I still think it’s a good scanner but the advertising makes it seem like it’s a fully portable scanner that works independently, which it doesn’t.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Terrible New Interface The Software for this product used to be simple and elegant, which was perfect for scanning on the go. Now it's convoluted and unwieldy. Would've recommended this product heavily when I bought it. Would not recommend it now.

I recently discovered that there is option to create a multiple page PDF file scan which is a game changer! I like that it you can hook it up as needed and then its small enough to store in my desk drawer until I need it again. This is a game changer!
