Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good printer This printer was easy to install and works in an office with 3 pcs. The option of using usb is good in case the wireless network goes down. Very quiet on standy, and good print quality. Good value for duplex too. The larger capacity toner option also keeps running costs down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bargain price mono laser printer Small footprint mono laser printer, which produces quality b&w prints at a reasonable print rate. Bargain price. Easy to set up with wireless connection to router. No problems so far (but early days yet)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HL2270DW I bought the brother printer for a home office and was very pleased from the start. The software was easy to install and understand and I had it working on my wireless network with an iMac and a Mac mini in no time. The print quality is good and print speed fast, even with the automatic duplex printing.. Everything I needed and at a reasonable price as well. I would happily recommend it to anybody wanting a home office printer.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The wireless function has become intermittent Originally, when the product was first purchased, wireless printing worked fine. Now, however, the function has become intermittent, and I regularly have to connect the printer directly to my computer using a USB cable. I paid extra for a printer with both duplex and wireless capabilities, but now it all seems a waste, as the only real premium I paid for was the duplex function. Other than that, the printer is great, although in hindsight I do wish I had spent the extra money on a colour feature, rather than paying for the now-and-again-existent wireless print function. To conclude, do not purchase this printer if you are looking to print wirelessly all the time, and if you have the money, go for something that allows you to print in colour.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Miss the facility to end a print session Managed to send 500 blank pages to the printer the other day and the only way to stop them churning out was to turn off the power, resulting a jammed paper. A button to stop the job would be useful. Otherwise very happy with what it does.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent little machine Compact, quick and much cheaper to run than the colour inkjet printer we were using.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Easy to network My previous Brother printer had worn out and I was looking for a replacement which would be easy to network. This one did the job; the instructions were clear and easy to follow. There were no problems linking up my childrens and my wife's laptops to the printer; no longer do they interrupt me asking me to print documents for them, The printer does exactly what it says it should do. Thanks Brother, a great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top Printer Purchased this printer as my partner had to work at home, writing detailed reports and detailed e-mails received, printing is fast, faultless free(almost) and easy, with set up a doddle. If you have a small office environment just buy it, takes up very little space yet holds at least 250 sheets A4, given double side printing as standard you know its attention span is better than the average teenager!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Inexpensive printing The brother hl.-2270dw printer is by far a more a economical method of printing than is the case with inkjet printers. It is fast, wireless and has the option of duplex printing. An excellent purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The quality I have come to expect from Brother I bought this printer to replace another Brother mono laser printer. I was coming up to drum (and toner) replacement so thought I would purchase new and this time would have a Wireless Printer for my Home Network. I did plenty of research before buying and just could not better the value and quality of the HL-2270DW. It was simplicity itself to install. Up and running in minutes. Duplex was an added value. Just what I needed. When my next replacement arrives, I will look no further than a Brother!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does what it says on the tin ... Bought this as a replacement for an ageing 2240D, and also because I wanted a printer that was easily accessible wirelessly by a home network. I was particularly impressed by the speed and ease with which I was able to connect to the wireless network and have the printer recognised by all three home PC's and laptops. Installation of drivers etc. was trouble free in both Vista and Win7. This is now my 4th Brother printer in some 18 years, and I really don't think I would consider buying any other brand in the foreseeable future. The printer is primarily used for HQ printing of music scores and parts for a small-scale Music Preparation business, (hence the need for efficient duplex), and it is more than fit for purpose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, Best Network Printer I'v ever had I purchased this printer for my business who needed a backup printer as the current rented printer has had lots of issues. I couldn't have picked a better printer. Setup was easy. Worked perfectly and am considering getting one for home. I definitely will recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Runs great with Mac Had some trouble with the set-up, which didn't run the same on Mac as it says in the booklet, but then seemed to be due to a faulty machine, then Brother replaced it promptly and helped me get running in minutes. Just the printer I needed!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall very good printer so far Overall the printer is very good quality. I have only had one prior laser print with another company which unfortunately stopped working. The after sales support was unpleasant so I decided to change to Brother. The build quality is not as sturdy as I would have liked and it is noisy when starting up. These are however side issues. If I get 5 years out of this machine without any issue, I will view it as a good investment. The wifi feature is very handy and has made my life much easier. You can download the app for Apple or Android phones.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good basic printer My selection criteria for the printer were: must be capable of wireless networking, must have auto duplex, must have reasonable running costs. The printer is used for internal business documents with low graphics content. Wireless set up was not exactly as stated in the manual as I use MAC address filtering, but if you are sophisticated enough to use MAC address filtering you are probably sophisticated enough to know what needs to be done to add a new device. Print quality is satisfactory and the print speed is better than I hoped. Noise levels are higher than I expected but are quite acceptable for my short and infrequent print runs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really Good B/W Wireless Duplex Laser Printer These were our specs, and we settled on the Brother HL-2270DW. I am so pleased. It does exactly what we want and it is also nice looking with a small footprint. Set up was much easier than I expected from reading other reviews and within 30 mins I interfaced it wirelessly with Windows 7 PC, Windows 8 Laptop, 2 x Windows 7 Laptops and a Mac Airbook. Have also downloaded the App and can print from the iPhone and iPad. How kool is that!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Has all the features with cheap price I bought this printer last year and am very happy with it. It's slim, fast, and can print on both sides of a paper. That's called duplex. It can be connected by wifi, USB and Ethernet, And best of all, it supports Linux! Just go to its web site to download Linux driver. Installation is easy for Linux. I use USB and Ethernet printing under Ubuntu and Linux Mint.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This printer does everything I need I particularly like the duplex feature. The print quality is superb and it is a very reliable workhorse. I use it all the time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Handy wireless printer Set-up instructions were adequate but there were no instructions on the printer itself e.g. what is the slot on the front for? The cooling fan could annoy you if you worked near the machine. Overall a well designed printer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So Far So Good Overall very pleased with the printer. This is my first printer with wireless and duplex. Duplex printing is very impressive but I had trouble making the wireless connection to my BT Home Hub. The hub has a wireless WPS button but not the symbol shown in the instructions. I faithfully followed the instructions to use this button to make the connection but was unable to get the printer to recognise the hub. Then used the alternative method of making a temporary USB connection and finally got the wireless connection to work for two PCs and a laptop. This was achieved after much frustration and aborted attempts and a degreee of luck. The aborted attempts left duplicate stuff which had to be sorted out afterwards. All now working sweetly. I've had one occasion so far where the error light has come on without any other clue as to why. The online status monitor supplied the details and it was straightforward to follow the online documentation to resolve a paper jam, although this did necessitate removing the toner cartridge.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from HL-2270DW Installation was very simple and straight forward. Drivers and software work well. The print quality is very good even in duplex mode. However, it is quite noisy compared to my last wireless laser which is the only reason it has not received 5 stars. Glenn

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Functional plug and play printer! This printer is what I was looking for, highly functional, easy to maintain and ... most important: easy to install.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great printer! Excellent printer, easy to set up, produces high quality prints. Can be a bit slow when printing very large files (but I've got it set up to work through wireless). Very satisfied with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb Printer This was the easiest printer that I have ever set-up. It really was as close to 'plug and play' as you could get. I use both network and wi-fi and it has never glitched yet. Having used the printer for a couple of months the print quality has been consistently excellent. I particularly like having a tray within the main printer body rather than having it sticking outside. The form factor might be a little large for some but remember it does do duplex. The dull matt finish and rounded corners mean that it looks unobtrusive. I would unreservedly recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A great, easy to use printer The printer is fast, efficient and easy to use. We use it as a general office printer and it does exactly what we need. The price was excellent, and it has so far done everything that has been asked of it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brother Laser Printer I am delighted with the printer, quality, speed, double sided and wireless a winnining combination. Also the decision to purchase this device was influenced by the availability of alternative toner supplies at much reduced prices.
