Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellence in a neat, affordable bundle I bought this printer as my main A4 workhorse. I wanted something that could talk to my network and handle duplex printing as well as basic scanning. I already have a larger Brother printer which handles all my A3 printing, and I've been very happy with that, so I took the plunge on its smaller, er, brother. The design is very impressive — it looks very sleek and self-contained, and doesn't take up a lot of room in my relatively small office. The setup was easy, and within minutes I had the printer talking to all my computers, my iPad and my iPhone. The print quality and speed is impressive, and it doesn't use as much ink as my old printer

Rated 5 out of 5 by from fine print this is the fastest & quietest printer I have had the pleasure of using. The print is very good, clean & true to colour. The machine is larger than an ordinary printer because of the fax facility which I don't think I will be using & probably would not have bought this model had I realised it had a fax facility, to wire the phone into the fax part is too complicated for the phone set up that i have installed but it is there if I ever want to use it. Hopefully this machine will last for the 8 years my other Brother printer lasted & having had that one reset I am still able to use it, but this new machine is far more advanced & quicker.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Printer Yet I have used many different printers from a number of manufacturers and thought I would return to try a Brother Inkjet, having used a Brother laser for over 10 years without any trouble. It installed immediately, found my network immediately, found both my Apple iMac and my wife's Windows 7 laptop; set itself up and was ready to print within minutes. It sleeps using next to no power and bursts into life as soon as I press print on any of my devices including iPad. The print quality is superb and uses much less ink than its rivals. I expect it will be the most cost effective inkjet printer I have ever owned. I am delighted with it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A modern up to date printer with lots of features After having a Brother DCP-350C for the last 4 years I decided to look at and upgrade and this was the perfect printer, I have used most of the functions on this machine except the DVD printer and I can say that the quality is much better than my old printer especially on photo copying. This machine is quieter and quicker at printing than the old one, and with double sided and DVD printing also wireless connection this is ideal for my needs, it works on my home network great, even though my old printer is still going strong with no problems I would recommend this printer to anyone. You can get cheaper printers but the build quality is very good and it looks good so it is worth paying a little extra.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but could do better! Overall a very good all in one printer, well made, clear instructions and easy to install and good value for money. I would recommend it, if it was not for the product registration process. They have gone to the dark side and have one of those survey questionnaires that ask far too many questions and that are far too personal. What my job is, were I work and what I earn are mine, my employer and the taxman's business! Not a company that I have purchased a product from. Please Brother if you value good customer care? Get rid of this intrusive product registration system. I had a MCF-215 for quite some years and that was a good reliable work horse, and this one is its replacement. So If this one lasts as long and works as hard I will be happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great printer, no issues A GREAT PRODUCT, GOOD SPEED, GREAT QUALITY, GENIUE INK CATRIDGES ARE REASONBLY PRICED AS WELL WHICH IS A BIG BONUS. USE IT TO PRINT HIGH VOLUME BLACK AND WHITE FOR UNIVERSITY WORK WITH SOME COLOUR AND SOME DVD WORK FOR VARIOUS PROJECTS PRINTER DOES IT WITH NO COMPLAINTS ONLY NIGGLE IS THE SMALL CAPACITY PAPER TRAY (100SHEETS) AND THE REQUIREMENT FOR LARGE AMOUNT OF SPACE AT BACK. IT IS A BIG BULKIER THAN IT CAN BE. THE POWER CABLE STICKS OUT OF THE RHS BY 2-3CM WHICH IS A PAIN WHEN IT COMES TO POSITIONING ESPECIALLY IF WALL NEXT TO IT. :(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best choice we have made. I have owned a lot of printers over many years but this is the first time I can honestly say I was glad I made this choice. The printer never fails to provide excellent quality print no matter what format. The printing choices are many and varied and have saved me lots of time whilst creating diverse documents and flyers. My husband particularly loves the CD label printing facility. The printer is soundly constructed easy to set up and use. I would reccomend this printer to everyboby who seeks reliability and excellent performance.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Are all Brothers the same? Within 3 weeks of purchase of the MFC-J825DW, the print quality failed significantly. The print head cleaning device was wet through with ink. Full marks to Staples who replaced the printer immediately. Interestingly my second printer has a completely different personality. Quite noisy at start up, but the print quality and ink consumption are quite different. Neat little machine, excellent value for money. This machine replaced my Brother MFC620 which ran without trouble for 6 years! Will this one be as good????
