Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product exceeded my expectations I have been buying Brother printers for many years now and have always been happy with them and tell my friends about them. This new one has the additional benefit of being able to print pictures straight from your card and viewing all of the pictures before selecting what ones to print. When it is a case of printing on Word pad or such like it is even faster than my previous printers. The inks also last longer than other makes of printers. I find this product a good all round reliable product. Thank you Brother

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product My DCP-J315W was bought as a replacement to a previous Brother printer that refused to print any black and would have cost more to repair than to buy a new one! The DCP-J315W is a good printer giving good quality borderless photo prints and general-purpose prints. The inbuilt display is not as good as my previous Brother printer but is adequate and easily navigated. Overall, it's worth the money, but would benefit from a more accurate indication of exactly which cartridge has low ink; perhaps a two stage indication, a warning when a few pages are left and another when a particular cartridge is virtually empty or the printer could stop printing before the ink feed tubes are dry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent printer I bought this printer to go with a new laptop. As this is the first wireless printer I have ever had I couldn't believe how easy it was to set up. I had it unpacked and working in a very short time. Everything is so easy to use and it is much more compact than other all-in-one printers. The only small gripe is that the power lead plugs in on the side rather than on the back. For me this made it a bit awkward to fit it into the space I had but that is just a personal comment but something I think people need to be aware of. Otherwise an excellent printer that I have already recommended to family and friends.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DCP J315W We are a multi computer household, with an apple main computer and both apple and pc laptops used in various rooms. This printer has had no difficulty in printing wirelessly from any of our computers - wherever they have been. Also, unlike my last printer, I have managed to scan from/to a number of our computers, not just the main one sitting next to the printer. We have had Brother printers for quite a while now, and I think this one has the easiest cartridge change system that I have so far tried. The only thing I miss is the paper feed for the scanner/copier - but that is just a little thing, and I can live without it. I would have no hesitation in recommending this Brother printer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Brother DCP-J315W Really good value for money printer bought as multi-purpose home printer for office and domestic use. Bought with wi-fi specifically so that printer can be remote from computer, and printer function works really well and was easy to set-up. However it must be said that the scanner function of the machine has not been so been so good. It is very confusing trying to start a scan from the computer (an i-mac) and also impossible to use the scanning function from another identity (user) on the i-mac. This is very frustrating and bizarre because the printing function works so well over all identities.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from User friendly We bought the printer on recommendation and are delighted with the purchase. It is quiet and VERY reliable. It does everything I ask it efficiently and promptly - it may not be the fastest printer I have had but it is an excellent workhorse. The inks last for ages and the print quality is superb as it continually cleans itself. The scanning and photo features are simplicity itself and the machine is very forgiving when I give it conflicting instructions and usually produces what I wanted anyway. I would definitely recommend this printer and would purchase another without any hesitaition.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My new Brother printer I am not particularly technically minded so am unable to comment on technical issues. What I can comment on is how incredibly impressed I am with this printer. It does exactly what you want it to in a quiet, efficient and, so far, in a totally dependable way. I've now replaced the black cartridge after a LOT of stuff printed and the cost of replacement and ease of fitting were a pleasant surprise. My son and wife can also now print wirelessly from elsewhere in the house which saves a lot of faffing about with e-mails. My previous printer (non Brother) was an absolute nightmare in every sense from day one, which doubles the pleasure in using this one. One very happy and satisfied customer! Thank you!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My new brother I have owned a new Brother printer, scanner, copier, for about 2 weeks now. The printer is fast with excellent quality print and so so quiet. I have used it pretty much everyday for one thing or another and havn't noticed the ink levels dropping. I bought a set of replacement inks ready but I feel it will be a whle before they are used Setting it up wirelessly, originally was as easy as is possible ie go through the menu and input your wireless key for your broadband. Hey presto the whole family can use it. Honestly it was as simple as that. So if you're in the market for a new all-in-one printer the Brother DCP-J315W is the way forward. Great product great price and trouble free printing etc Brilliant

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very reasonably priced printer We bought this printer to replace an old, slow printer with extortionate replacement printer cartridges. We didn't want to spend a lot so read reviews and this one came out well. It was really easy to set up and is much faster than the previous one with the added bonus of ink cartridges being a fraction of the price. Print quality is fine and it is really useful to be able to copy and scan and to print out direct from memory cards. All in all it seems a good bit of kit for a very reasonable price plus it will have paid for itself with what I save on cartridges in the first year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SO EASY TO USE--NO MATTER HOW OLD YOU ARE !!! This printer was so easy to set up for WiFi,, and is very simple to use. It has an Lcd screen for copying, and is very quiet. Plus it taked up very little space. I know it has other options that I have not yet discovered , but as this is a new Printer, along wth a new computer, I just have not got round to it. I have used a Brother Label Printer [QL 560] for many years, and really love it, so when I found that I needed a new Printer, this time I went for a Brother. And no, I am not a young "techie", I am a 73 year old Single Senior Citizen, and I do all the setting up myself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DCP-J315W review I have owed three printers from two different companies before I bought this Brother printer. It is awesome, so easy to install via the Wi-Fi The inks last a long time & are easy to replace. The interface is excellent. I did not think I would use the scanner or the photocopier but I have - so easy to use. I have given this review 5 stars but if there was 10 stars I would have given it 10. Thank you brother for a printer that does what it is meant to do, easy to install, maintain & use

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little printer! We love the value for money this printer has turned out to be. Replacement inks are affordable and the purchase price was very reasonable. We have had no problems with software and compatibility with our MacBook. The scanner function is easy to use and the wireless connectivity brilliant. It is nice and compact and we love the internal paper storage tray! A quiet, unassuming little gem that gets the job done without making you want to throw it and all your devices out the window!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best for the Money Bought as a Christmas Present for Me by My Son, whose a Stickler for getting the very best He can; for the least amount of Money. Many other printers may be bought reasonably cheaply, but when it comes to buying the Ink; the price is expensive. This Printer is Great Value for Money to Buy AND Run, with individual Inks costing very little Money. Inks can also be replaced individually and the Printer tells you when each one needs replacing. The Printer itself is Great Quality, easy to set up and Produces everything you could want out of a Printer in first class quality.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hope it lasts this time! This is my third Brother printer. I bought this DCP-J315W as a direct replacement for an identical model, which failed suddenly after less than two years' use, so I hope this one lasts longer than that! Before that I had an earlier model which lasted for 4.5 years of very heavy printing and continued to give excellent service throughout its life. I tried one of Brother's main competitor products and returned it instantly because in comparison it was quite horrible - noisy, crudely built, poor, generic, software, and I couldn't stand having it on my desk. Brother printers are way ahead in refinement, hence another purchase. But please don't pack in again or I may have to rethink my long-term allegiance to the company.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No multipage PDF Unfortunately the DPC range do not support this, but you only find out after purchase. It means a 10 page doc scanned in can only be saved as 10 1 page docs. A farce if you have to email it on as 10 attachments! It has therefore been returned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DCP-J315W why need wires? The DCP-J315W is the perfect printer for people with laptops, smart phones, tablets or just people with multiple devices. Possibly the greatest thing about the printer is its software and ease of use. It doesn't support airPrint but it does have a downloadable app which makes printing from a phone or tablet effortless. The printer is fast and the print quality good. Everything works out of the box and there is very little to set up. All the ports and connections are nicely hidden away, and the location of the ink in the front panel is incredibly useful. Mentioning ink, genuine ink cartridges for this product are incredibly well priced, far better than most competitive brands. The printer cleans the heads itself when needed so there's no fussing around. When you print you always get good results A great printer, fast, reliable, simple.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Brother DCP-J315W Very good printer for home use. I've been using it only for a few months now but overall I'm very happy with it. The wireless feature is really usefull and has stayed connected ever since it established connection with my router. The print quality is good too, although I have only been printing documents not photos..should be good enough for photos too though. The scanner also works really well and fast.Installing the printer up was really easy and didn't take more than 10-15 minutes to get it up and running! One of the best printer out there for the money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Seems to work fine Bought this at short notice when my old printer packed up. It works fine with my iMac and my wife's MacBook. Took a few minutes to set up. I like the 4 separate ink cartridges so I don't have to replace a 3 colour cartridge just because the first colour has run out. I'm also told by the shop that the Brother cartridges don't give problems if refilled as did my earlier make of printer. Initially I thought this model was a little large for my desk but because the paper tray doesn't stick out so far its actually not. Its a bit more complex on the print menu to select draft quality B&W prints but that's do-able. I don't like the bit in Brother's terms that says they can modify my review and still use it! Whats the point if they do that?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well priced and works well. Set up seemed fairly straightforward following instruction booklet. Appeared to connect to wireless router without problems. The problem came when I tried to print from my computer and nothing happened, numerous tries to connect following instructions, still no luck. E-mailed Brother for advice, a few days later I received a phone call and was talked through a procedure which changed the internet address and installed the driver to my computer. Apart from initial set up problem printer works well and is excellent value for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Using the printer This was the first wireless printer I have used, I bought this model as I had previously been using an older brother printer and have found it to be very reliable and cheap to run. I was very pleased at how easy it was to install the software and be up and running within minutes, the machine is a credit to the company and makes my life so much easier as before I have had to leave the house to print anything as we have the printer in an outside office, now I can print documenst from a distance it really helps me be far more efficient.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DCP-J315W This printer scanner copier is absolutely perfect for my needs in a small home office. It has replaced a similar function device from a competitor company and has already proved itself to be far superior in speed, quality and functionality/connectivity. It also looks better and has a more cost effective ink cartridge replacement arrangement. I am very pleased with it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Great Home Printer As a first time user of a network printer I expected some difficulty with the setup since the printer needs to service 2 desktops and a laptop on the home wifi network. However the setup disk did all the work and within less than 20 minutes I was printing from all three. Print quality is fine and photo printing on the Brother photo paper is very good. So far ink usage appears about average. I have just had my first warning that ink levels are getting low but I am not sure if the ink catridges that ship with the printer have the same quantity of ink as the normal retail cartridges. A great home printer that does all that I would expect. It also looks nice on the desktop and does not suffer from the usual top loading paper feeder that you get on some printers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Colour Printer Got the wireless version because it had a choice of colours and got a black printer. Set up went OK, not done may printouts yet but print quality seems OK. Like the idea that printer goes to sleep when you've stopped using it, however it doesn't seem to wake up when you are ready to print again, without having to switch on again. Should have separate tray for printing envelopes especially if you are only going to print one. Got round this by putting envelope in the centre of the tray on top of already loaded paper.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great design Seems like a reasonably priced colour printer, with especially welcome facility to work from SD card without computer, although setting up to use wirelessly was simple once I realised how it needs to communicate via the home wifi. Colours when printed on gloss paper are not as bright as on computer screen, and a little disappointed to find it cannot take A5 paper (or I've not found how to do so). Overall pleased, particularly because loading and printed pages all from front. Still learning full capabilities.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from product features I find this printer very easy to use. the cartridge change is so simple to do. The paper change is also easy to do. This is my second brother printer, I do a lot of scan and print and this is the ideal machine, Iwouldnt buy any other printer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I chose this product with the intention of more economic and convenient printing I have had the printer for just a short time. It was easy to install and so far the paper feed has been good and the ink supplied with the purchase has produced good quality copies. My usage is mainly printed page but I would have already needed to replace the black from my previous printer, and there is still half a cartridge left according to the easy to see indicator. I have not needed to use all the printer features yet but it appears to be exactly what I require for a basic home use printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality home printer Been using this product for a month now with no problems, only had one piece of paper get jammed (but it was easy to release from the back compartment) and pleased to find it will print onto thick card (which I expected to get stuck). Scanning wasn't straight forward as you need to link it with your computer set up but managed eventually. So far not needed to change the ink cartridges so overall its much better than my last two printers (one which was less than 12 months old!) Well done Brother!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clever bit of kit I have been using the Brother DCP-J315W wireless printer for only three weeks so far but I'm well impressed with it. It was reasonably easy to set up and I'm enjoying being able to print from wherever I am in the house from my laptop without any problems whatsoever. It's far too soon to talk about longevity or running costs but it's made a good start. I was happy to choose a Brother product because the Brother fax machine in work has been utterly reliable since it was bought nearly 20 years ago.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An end to wired printing My first wi-fi printer and this have proven to be a great choice. Simple to set up and so easy to use. Goes to sleep quietly in the corner until it's needed. My 2nd Brother all-in-one printer and it won't be my last.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So easy to install Great quality printer which was so easy to set up - even for a casual, pensioner computer/printer user like myself. Very neat with good reproduction and fast to print. Wireless works really well.
