Don't bother trying to use photo paper Really disappointed with this printer. I bought it to print photographs andi mages on thin card and all it does is jam. Worst buy ever and I have had about six printers over the past 25 years. Never ever again 17 May 2014
good for basic home printing i had this product for 2 years. its fairly basic and does what a printer scanner should do. its not particular fast and the printing quality isn't the greatest but if your just using it for the odd print and scan its good value for money. i have been using it for my university work and i have to print a lot off pages which can take a while but in the long run with the ink being so cheap its easily looked over. i did find that the power adaptor wasn't very stable and it would easily become disconnected. but placing the printer somewhere where it won't get knocked will stop this problem. 20 April 2014
Comparison with previous printer I recently renewed my computer and the bought this Brother printer because my old printer, does not work with Windows 8.1. Unfortunately, I cannot help comparing the new printer with the old one. The Brother printer is much slower. To print a document of several sheets on both sides of the paper the procedure is more complicated. With the old printer the procedure was 1. Check a box to denote double sided printing. 2. When the first part of the printing had finished, remove the sheets 3. Without rearranging put the sheets back into the feeder 4. Click on a button to continue. Something like this can be done with the Brother but the sheets have to be rearranged. The Brother has four cartridges. The old printer had one for black and one for colour. I do not do much printing and so I would often leave the old printer for a long time without using it. According to the instructions, I have to leave the Brother permanently plugged in. I admit that the Brother has more features but I doubt whether I shall ever use them. 09 April 2014

An Excellent Buy Bought a DCP 195 printer/scanner to replace an older Brother MFC 260C and it's just as good as the old printer. Very easy set up, quick and quiet and excellent quality for the money. All our printers at work are Brother and they prove to be be reliable, economical to run, and good to look at too. 21 March 2014
Printer DCP195C-Exellent I found that installing and setting up the DCP195C offered no problems. Loading Inks and paper couldn't have been more simpler. I was so impressed that I purchased another for my grandson. 11 March 2014
