Cool-Earth---3---Thomas-Marent

As part of our ongoing commitment to the environment we’ve teamed up with the Cool Earth charity to protect part of the Amazon rainforest in Peru.

In doing this we are preventing deforestation, reducing CO2 emissions and allowing plant and animal life to thrive.

"We’re 'kicking-off’ the new partnership with Cool Earth to safeguard four square kilometres of endangered rainforest… That’s the same size as about 600 football pitches!"

Our partnership with Cool Earth is helping local communities of the Peruvian Amazon to protect four square kilometres of rainforest around the clock, as they safeguard a unique eco-system and responsibly harvest produce, such as nuts, coffee and cocoa.
"Our Cool Earth pledge is protecting: 44,000 mature trees, 190,000 saplings, 6 endangered species of mammal, 322 types of plant and over 11,000 species of insect and worm"

Carbon dioxide is the main greenhouse gas that causes climate change and much of these emissions come from the things we do every day. As one of Cool Earth’s leading partners, we’re encouraging our whole team to do their bit for the environment and reduce our carbon footprint across Europe.

"By making small changes to our daily routines we can make a big difference to our environment"

Rainforests are essential for our planet’s survival and the Amazon alone provides a fifth of the world’s fresh water and a fifth of the world’s oxygen. By protecting four square kilometres of rainforest as part of our partnership with Cool Earth we are also stopping 260,000 tonnes of potential CO2 emissions from escaping into our atmosphere.

"We’re keeping 100,000 tonnes of living carbon safely locked away and protecting the irreplaceable Amazon eco-system"
