This printer is excellent but with no driver for Dos It is a very good printer under Windows, very fast and very solid. I have been buying Brothers printers for the last many years and they always represent good value for money. As I am still partly using Dos for my accounting software, the HL5340D printer comes with parallel port without Dos driver making the old boys feeling being left out. After 3 hours of hit and miss, I managed to print 90 lines and 132 characters per line using the Brother HL-P2500 Dos driver. I therefore give the compatibility rating full marks with one missing star. 01 June 2011
Some mysteries Some mysteries about this printer still exist. I cannot get pdf files to print which is very annoying. Also struggling to be able to chose the lower paper tray as a first option, when it carries A4. I'm sure both these things are resolvable but I can not figure it out and have spent way too much time trying to do so. Everything else about this printer is superb. Fast, good quality printing. 01 June 2011
A great printer I have found this printer to be great for double sided printing. It's certainly saving me and the environment some paper. 30 May 2011
