How Laser Printing Works...
The drum is positively charged as it rotates.
A laser beam is fired at the rotating drum creating an electrostatic image.
Charged toner particles are then attracted to the lasers charge on the drum.
The paper is negatively charged as it passes the drum - this negative charge causes the toner to be drawn from the drum and onto the papers surface.
The resulting image is fixed by heat and pressure applied by the fuser unit.
