How Brother UK Engages With its Community

Brother UK are pleased to release the 2014-15 edition of our Community Engagement Report.

Drawing from a Global Charter that endeavours to set our engagement policy for a long-term commitment of ethical responsibility, the report draws upon several highlights from the previous financial year, including:

  • Environment: certified ISO 14001 environmental management system, complete with a reduction of energy emissions
  • Charitable Association: raising money for Action for Children, Breast Cancer research, Samuel Laycock High School via Sainsbury's Active Kids, and many more
  • Community: long-term links with local organisations like the Hallé orchestra, Forever Manchester, The Convoy of Happiness and Tameside 4 Good
  • Professional Development: achieved an Investors in People (IIP) Gold standard, as well as their ‘Health and Wellbeing Good Practice Award’.

Phil Jones, managing director of Brother UK, said: “Our job as the UK subsidiary of a multinational is to ‘think local’ on all elements of our citizenship activity. And with our headquarters in Europe and Japan, we must consider all elements of our global citizenship too. I am pleased to report that in the last year, we have continued to make excellent progress both internally and externally.”
