Best printer owned
I had a smaller brother prior to this and couldn't fault that either.
Ink is cheap and last ages, pretty much faultless printing and software is easy to use too.

An easy product to set up and use
I bought this printer to use the A3 printing size to help with printouts of parts of my family tree research. This has proved very useful.
I also use it to print my photographs and these are of a good standard.

Very versatile tool that does all I need and more. Can print up to A3. Usual Brother quality. Easy to use for somebody old and a bit thick like me.

Why do manufacturers continue to produce ONLY what-they-want
I was looking for a quality A-3 printer at a 'reasonable' price without massive costs for cartridges. This fills all initial requirements ... but ...
When will manufacturers realise: that
1) an A-3 combi printer should also scan A-3 paper?
2) why is there no CD/DVD disk (cover) printer ?
3) why is there no LIGHTSCRIBE facility
4) printers, scanners, fax machines are not always required as combi models
5) wouldn't it be nice if this model was also wireless?
6) are all manufacturers in cahoots over making money from cartridge sales? I'd rather pay more, initially, for a printer rather than have to break the bank for ongoing running costs - this model is "old" enough to be on the "compatible-cartridge" suppliers' listings so I suppose I shouldn't gripe!

Great quality and value, but......
.....VERY slow to start printing when networked. It seems as though it would benefit from more internal memory to aid the print spooling/print process.
That said, I'm very pleased with the print quality, ink economy and overall presentation of the printer. I print lots of A3 drawings and the performance in this regard has been flawless!

This printer is very good and the price was excellent. The print quality is excellent and the print speed very quick. This is used in a church so can be used quite alot and is very good for what we need.

Easy to use fab print quality
This is the second brother printer I have bought . Would recommend this one to anyone . I use both of my printers for photo prints , decoupage , graphics , fax , copy , and every day print jobs . Would not swop either of them .

Loved the endprint facility
I purchased the product in order to print on A3. The print results are good but the unit is prone to paper jambs if the paper is at all currled at the edges. Great having the ability to print without using the computer at all. Every time I use The Brother MFC 5890CN it still provides plesent surprises. Now all I need is some flat A3 paper and I will be fine.
I did not mention the natural factory set colour is great also and is not over saturated as I have noticed my other printer bought for its 5 ink cartridge system is. So we have better prints on four ink cartridges A3 and great value for money.
Oh I forgot to mention its a Fax and the auto feed scanner is as good as many separate flatbed scanners I have owned.
